Search engine optimization

It is a bit strange that as the world progresses we still need to rely on our most basic instincts to get on top of life. Search engine optimization is somehow related to what we as people already know since day one of our lives.

Information technology and all other technologies which aids us on our daily lives still are just tools. It is still up to us on what to use and at what time it is best to use these tools on. There is no replacing a person’s judgment to look past the obvious. There is no machine we could actually ask for answers to our questions or our problems. If you had a problem with your business could you hire a machine as a consultant? Isn’t it hard enough to trust a stranger, I can’t even begin to imagine letting a machine handle my business. This scenario might still be too far out to the future, but it doesn’t mean it’s impossible.

The closest thing we have to an artificial intelligence is an internet search engine. Google for instance is probably the smartest search engine we can use. The best thing about it is that everyone can use it absolutely free. Also that what makes search engine optimization so effective, because everyone is using them.

Certainly in that short period of time, Google has gone from a start-up in Mountain View to one of the most recognized brands in the world. I, you and the person beside you probably use Google at least a hundred times a week. That is why other companies of all industries wants to learn how to wield it power.

Search engine optimization involves the process of making a website be more visible on the internet’s search engine. Some examples of the internet’s top search engine are Google, Yahoo and Bing. These three represent a huge chunk of the percentage of people using the World Wide Web. As you already know, that without search engines the internet would be reduced to waste. It would be like being inside a market to shop for something but you won’t have any idea of what to shop for because you don’t know their names and what the merchandise are for. And you won’t have anyone that you can ask for help to. That is what it would be like without search engine optimization. We would just be staring at beautiful, wonderful looking shiny objects but we might not even have to courage to touch any because we are clueless. A search engine is programmed to organize things for you. It would put labels on those merchandise which would indicate their names, contents and whatever the use for them are. With their labels on, those items can finally be put to use. Search engine optimization steps in and amplifies that label your company has. It makes it bigger than the competition so your company as an item would be easily notice as a customer walks in the aisle.

Most of us are not aware of a battle waged on search engine optimization. It is the battle of who gets the best visibility on the internet’s search engines. Which makes the skill of knowing how to be placed on those high visibility pages a very high commodity?
